Stormy Daniels Departs Wicked, Signs With Digital Playground
Stormy and Wicked.
The two are almost as closely associated as Steve Jobs and Apple or Bill Gates and Microsoft, but all good things come to an end. Stormy Daniels, long a contract performer and director for Wicked Pictures, has signed with Digital Playground.
Stormy herself had mixed emotions about the switch but was looking forward to what her tenure at DP might bring. “[It] definitely felt strange,” she said. “Still a bit sad about ending such a huge chapter but beyond excited about starting this new one.” She had first signed with Wicked in 2002, making her the longest tenured of Wicked contract stars. (The distinction now falls to Jessica Drake, who joined Wicked in 2003.)
The move is yet another headline for Daniels, whose alleged affair with Donald Trump (and the hush money she was supposedly paid) have made her a tabloid favorite. It will be interesting to see what her collaborations with Digital Playground yield. While DP’s most famous contract stars (Jane, Riley Steele, Stoya, and others) have long since retired or become free agents, in more recent years the company has enjoyed fruitful working relationships with stars like Eva Lovia.
It’s not the first time a star has left a longtime studio home late in her career. After years as a Digital Playground star, Jesse Jane signed a contract with Jules Jordan Video in 2015. By gaining Stormy, DP got the better of it this time, and the move leaves Wicked with two remaining contracts players, Drake and Asa Akira.
